BYC Café

Good morning and thanks for the hot coffee! Single digits out there and some frost on the deck. That just means COLD!

Penny, I am hoping and sending positive thoughts your way.
:hugs :hugs :hugs

I made flower shaped cinnamon rolls yesterday, just for grins. They came out okay when they had space to flower but I didn't want to bake 2 pans so half came out as flower buds...LOL! They taste great no matter what they look like. I am bringing MORF a couple when I take him to radiation today.

Hang in there, Cafe! Stay warm and dry and safe!
I have a stack of seed catalogues (3) but I am afraid of what I will do when they get opened...

A turkey parade through my yard. To the neighbors who have put out a wildlife block in their side lot, just behind my panels.

While they were munching on the block something spooked them and about a dozen turkeys flew into the woods behind my house to join a bunch that were already out there making their way to the block.

I also see that a deer walked across the frozen bog.

So beautiful all that turkey & deer prints setting on the snow, that is nature artwork right at your door step.
We have soak in water lawn, so no nice footprint, but just few turkey poops, no nature artwork.

Good Morning All,
I am having 2nd cup of tea now. I got bitten by insects again this morning when I came down to let my feather kids out. So much rain, spider webs everywhere, my hair caught in those spider webs. My chickens love to eat spiders and there are plenty of them in the morning. They start building their web as soon as the sun is down. Just nature doing its thing right in the path of me walking into the chicken runs.

Driveway is cleared and scraped. Bittersweet.
Got the Herby dragged up to the road and the poop buckets hauled to the garage for Wed delivery.
Supposed to get more lake effect tonight and tomorrow.
Who knows how much it will be, hopefully not enough to impede my travels Wed. Might stay north and maybe inland due to the winds. :fl

Got 3 eggs today, I figured 3 were laying but first time they all laid on the same day.

About a week from tonight, they forecast -2F for an overnight low. A lot can change by then.

I remember the winter of 93/94 when we had -30F air temps, before windchill. Craig James (meteorologist) said we weren't likely to see temps like that again in our lifetimes.

That was 30 years ago, the year before we moved out here.
