BYC Café

How hot is it?
Yes, EL for both humans and fowl.
I don't know the exact number, I just see that it is sunny, clear blue sky, and whenever I walk into my garden my skin feels burn, a kind of pain burn. My chickens have their mouths open, sit still, drink so much water that they just blast liquid instead of solid poop. They do not each much but drink and drink. Whenever they move, their wings open out. Some with eyes closed and they are in the shade. I often water their area through out the day.
Like my chickens, I drink more and eat less, stomach filled up with water. My dogs hide under my car and do not do much at all.

Yes, because I can feel how hot/cold/rain from just looking and walking outside of my house.
I know from experience that clear blue sky = dry heat very hot.
Cloudy sky, muddy and heaviness in the air = high humidity and possible rain.
When the cloudy sky, muddy and heaviness in the air for a few days and it gets heavier & stickier = storm is imminent.
The longer this goes on, the worst the storm will be.

For you, I just google the weather from our official weather authority for today being our Thursday.

My chickens are not moving, they are sitting under the shade, those that in the nest box mouth open eyes closed and all windows are open. I get a pin point kind of pain on my skin when I walk into the garden.

Hopefully the tonights lake effect system stays north and I can clear run enough in the morning for the chooks to get out of the coop for the first time in days.
It did not stay north, inch or two overnight and coming down like mad, warnings last until 7pm.

I did get enough of run cleared for birds to leave the coop.
Still too cold to get all the frozen poop unstuck from boards.
Some pop right off, the juicy ones do not.

Damn, thought I would get out of here today, not gonna happen.
Running low on chookchow.
Just another day watching the snow fallandfallandfallandfall.
Dropsheadtotable.

Thanks for the hot coffee! It is sunny here, high of a balmy 17F, but we are to get the Breezes and Snow for the weekend and back down to single digits for a repeat of the fun. I wanted to go watch DS$ wrestle on Sat. , but that seems a bit more nasty driving that I want to risk, so maybe the following weekend.
I guess storm prep is on the list for us. Enjoy the day, Cafe!
