BYC Café

I think I have graduated from just being able to skate in my side lot to actually having a hockey match.

The really fun one is the wood shed:
Sand! ;) at least will provide some traction until it's warm enough for salt to work.

Went to lock up the coop and found a sparrow in the coop. GRRR!
Never had that happen before, in the shed yeah before I started never leaving the door open. Sparrows and juncos have been foraging in the run lately, that's kinda new too at least in the numbers I've seen the past couple-few weeks. Was just thinking this morning about them getting inside and well now it's happened. GRR! Made a halfarsed effort to catch it with a butterfly net, but that thing was fast and frantic and I was upsetting all the birds. So I just left the pop door open hoping it might go out, not much chance tho. Not sure what I'll do in the morning. <chuckles> wonder what'll happen when the supp lights go on at 4am.

The ice is about 1" thick. I did spread some rock salt and it put some pits in it. That is what is in the white bucket with the red lid. That and the folding table are the only things that didn't get frozen to the ground in there.

Yeah, I saw the salt holes, but still....

You're just bound and determined to make me deal with people, aren't you? I cannot order sand from Amz.
:gig Do you order road salt from amz?

Well, bird was still there, despite all my dreams of it dying overnight. <chuckles>SMH.
That thing is fast! It flew all over constantly landing once in a while on the HC walls, ceiling, etc. It would try for the windows, but HC everywhere. It was landing on the wall between coop and shed, dawned on me to open the top of the dutch door in that wall. It immediately flew out of coop into shed, then I opened the shed door wide and I'm pretty sure it flew out there. Might have been the same bird I saw eating scratch with the chooks in run as I headed back to house. Well, that's one less thing to worry about today, so far anyway.
