BYC Café

Good morning. It is COLD here today. So, I might just stay inside and bake something...
But I thought that the high 40's was just 'brisk' or a bit 'bracing'? Backing something is always a good thing!
Good morning, Café. :caf
Good Morning Sir Sour
Wish I could divert some of those rainstorms to my house. We've had it raining all around, but not here. Makes for some beautiful sky watching though . [CONTENTEMBED=/t/948525/byc-caf/10380#post_17119705 layout=inline] [/CONTENTEMBED]
That is a right pretty sky you have there!
We are still getting some scattered showers. And by scattered, it's raining on my place, and nowhere else
Lol that reminds me of the cartoon where the rain cloud follows the toon all over. We have something similar when we get scattered rain, it rains everywhere but our place. Lol storms have actually split and went around us before.
A running joke around this place is, a weather witch lives somewhere near and DOES NOT like to get very much rain. Some times we get rain, most days we can watch the radar and the rains part and go around this area :barnie Scott
Weather witch, make so much sense we must have one too. It is really uncanny watching as radar parts and then comes back togeather just beyond us M

I have watched weather radar pictures "do the Wilmington Split" more times than I can remember - sometimes with great relief, as an approaching storm system may also have lots of watch boxes posted on it, too. Though my husband has long suspected that the rain gauge at the airport may be under the eave of a building - the "official" rainfall totals always seem low. Neighborhoods all around may have overflowing ditches and drains, and the airport will have recorded less than half an inch.

Colin is officially just due south of us, but the rain and wind are pretty much all offshore at this point. Looks like the school system's 2-hour delay wasn't strictly necessary, but I'm glad they took the precaution. We've gotten roughly 3" of rain in the last 24 hours, but I think the official total will be less than 2.

Was thinkin' 'bout you yesterday, Eggsy - sorry about the dodgy internet, but glad all you got was damped at a bit.

Morning! Sunny mornings and chance of rain PM's is the standard weather pattern in these parts till Sept. Then we dry out big time. In fact, the clearer the morning, the more you had better bring your rain coat. When we lived in Tuscon, it took me forever to stop tying the raincoat on the saddle.....

Mornin' Margie! Yep, I can see how that could be - get a bit of sunshine first thing to get some convection going, and POOF - thunderstorms. The "normal" pattern here is for a sea breeze front to form up and proceed inland; you can often see it on a radar picture and by the line of clouds IRL. Some days, that will produce storms; the aggravating ones are when the storms "train" through an area - the moisture from one feeds the next, and they just keep regenerating until after the sun goes down. I remember spending a summer day at my parents' house and coming home to find everything around here underwater; a 5 gallon bucket in the yard had more than 12 inches of water in it.

Sorry about the asthma triggers, and the storms. But I am totally with you on the packaged, processed, snack cake thing/ just the thought of eating one turns my stomach. I love a good granola. :gig

Pretty sky!

Mornin' Margie. Hope you have a good day despite the PM showers. :)

Yup, Twinkies are decidely disgusting! Lol

As for the processed thing, see, I am aware of that and know how bad they and other processed stuff is and in fact need to lose weight too atm, but yet they are soooo delicious I can't resist lol

LOL. I didn't say YOU shouldn't eat them (although really you shouldn't) I just said I won't eat them. :lau

Obviously they are loved by many or they wouldn't sell so many!

LOL trueeee. I'll keep eating :P

For a long time I have called that stuff "junk pretending to be food," but that doesn't mean I never indulge - occasionally.:hide

That is true lol
