BYC Café

How big is the opening on the portable tank? Maybe you could put one of those electric de-icers in there.
Exactly what I was thinking.
Just went to a water dispenser. You pay a loonie ($1) and get about 80 imperial gallons (a bit smaller than US gallon). Came home, cut the top off of a 50 gal rain barrel and filled it up. It may be easier to thaw it than the 200 gal tank.
Now I've just got to get the chicken water situated. Going to bury a tire, spray foam the insides, set a 3 gallon rubber tub in, fill it and float some ping pong balls in it.

So far it's a good "Friday the 13th. Truck passed inspection and I got my flu shot with minimal wait. Tonight grandson starts a baseball tournament so we have ball games to attend this weekend. :yesss:
Baseball in October. Who would have thunk it. Definitely not around here.
It's warmed up to -1c mind you.

The World series is still to be played here too.
The season was delayed due to a strike in the 2000s and they kept that wacky schedule. I remember the world series in September growing up. It is weird to see the stadiums where they play both football and baseball and see the baseball field under the football field. Candlestick park in SF used to be like that.

Heh
I got out of a volunteer gig I was supposed to do tomorrow night.
I work at a camp for people with disabilities. We're running the 50/50 draw at the Oilers game tomorrow night. I work 6am-1pm tomorrow and again on Sunday. It was going to be a pretty exhausting weekend.
My boss emailed me and said they had too many volunteers so I didn't have to go. Phew.

It will be in the 40's F, and those metal bleachers are cold. I am breaking out the long johns and long sleeved henleys to go with my blue jeans and flannel shirt. They play this weekend and then in 2 weeks. Next spring he hopes to play high school ball so this team may be put on a back burner.

Yeah. That was actually what we did on thanksgiving here. Watch the playoffs, not football.
