More than the 17 year cicadas?
Lived through that one year when I was in Ohio. Omg! Definitely a reason to end up in an asylum.

You're talking about a few I take it. I'm talking hundreds of thousands if not millions non stop, day and night, for 5 days straight.

No, there were thousands making that undulating sound non stop for weeks , not just 5 days. All the birds loved them, and gorged on them as did the fox and raccoons.
