I hope so too, this is my first time trying to be a broodie hen ;) I have some dark eggs I cant really see in but I do have 4 movers and 2 I think are possibles and I am only trippin a little, Which for me is HUGE!
I was going to ask how long the dark eggs can stay in the bator especially if they are just Yolkers. ?
I give the dark shelled eggs plenty of time and leave them in unless the start to smell.

If they are glowing a lot or if the darkness has not increased by day 12 to 14 I will often remove them. That has caused problems before though--found one that was alive which made be sad to have killed it

It's about 55f in here right now.
So nice and toasty!

Glad it didn't get cold for ya! ;)

We haven't had the wood stove running for almost a week now... and it is below freezing. ... finally getting to me, I guess we should crank it back up today.

And... No one should have to stoke a fire every 1.5 hours :sick You need a better more efficient wood stove.

I need more coffee...

I will share

We had enough warmth last week to soften up the top of the snow... and give me a couple of small dirt/sink hole spots on my driveway ... and a few solid ice turns 9n the driveway.. (so happy I still have snow berms to keep my car from rolling down the hill)... ...... but everything is back to frozen solid.

Not even warm enough to hack the poo out of the poo shelves. Which is sad... I have a lice infestation and I can't do a full clean out. :(

Too bad lice can't freeze to death :(

Get Spinosad!

You can use generic that is for garden bugs. Out of the sun, it will kill bugs for a month in the coop. Undiluted it can be used on the chickens as a systemic lice and mite killer.

On label for chickens is elektor. You need to rob a bank to afford it though
