BYC Café

Morning! Hope all goes well for everyone today! (There seems to be quite a bit going on...)
We have winds, 60mph + and a red flag warning out on the far-off plains.
I am teaching another horse lesson today, but at least it is warm.
Time to get things done now that the coffee is gone. I will brew another one JIC.
I am checking in! I am sneaking in some hatch a long work while working... I hate it when work gets in the way of BYC Time!

We are supposed to get a storm tonight. Wind in the 50s in the Sierras. Likely not too much wind here though

Time for more Coffee!

Thank you all for the well wishes :hugs:)
First ER thought dad had pneumonia but the second hospital got it right, valley fever. He's feeling tons better and even singing, a very good sign! His favorite song? Blood on the Saddle, he's a goofball :idunno
Valley Fever can be very bad!

Yes it can! Add to that his age: 88 in June. Apparently he's responded very well to treatment and likely won't need aftercare. :fl
Down south of me the Prison system has a prison in the desert. Apparently some minority groups have less resistance to valley fever(a type of fungal infection). Inmates are now tested for resistance and if they do not have it they are moved to a different prison. A lot of prisoners died or became very ill because of Valley Fever.

I hadn't heard of it before we moved to AZ. I'm happy inmates are tested for resistance. I knew a guy years ago who passed away from it. It started as a terrible back ache and he never was "sick."

that is a great song!

I'm surprised anyone even knows the song, not very commonplace:highfive:I'll be sure to mention it, it'll make him smile. And sing of course.
