BYC Café

G'morning everyone. Hope you all have a great day!

They are opportunitic. If they find prey, its supper. An easy meal, baby birds are.

Yup, and it's why crows work so hard to harass hawks.

I'm sorry @drumstick diva it would make me cringe too. :hugs Grackles are worse, they just kill the babies and leave them. Can't shoot them but boy I'd sure like to!

I love seeing birds of prey; but of course then I worry about my chickens.

Thanks for the coffee @N F C
I've got a few brownies left, because (don't judge me), I ate almost the whole pan yesterday. *sigh* I can't seem to find the willpower to drop the sugar!

Freezing rain still being predicted for the weekend. Saturday and Sunday are looking miserable. So much for starting my coop build!

Morning Cafe!
Thanks for the cup of Joe, Debby. I really need it this morning...already worn out from trying to catch up with all the New Intro's the last few days.
Expecting sever thunderstorms here today. Hopefully not like 2 years ago on this day....softball size hail, tornados. The most destructfull storm in Texas history, the destruction was 30 miles wide and 60 miles long.
I gotta get outta here and get some shut eye. Hope everyone has a great day!

Morning! Thanks for the coffee. Snow showers coming in here starting tonight and then nice again. Hawks do keep the rodents down as well, but that would have been hard to witness, Diva. :hugs
Glad the dialysis class is going well and I think it is great that you are willing to do it, OFW. Cudoos to you!
Tree, how is the syrup tasting these days? Are you tired of pancakes yet?
Stay safe, Sean!

(ah the guilt) Collection hasn't been going well; weather's been bad and getting the toddler out there doesn't always happen. Threw out 23L of sap from last week and with the ice storm coming I don't think we'll boil what's out there now (haven't collected since sunday anyway) So maybe this is the end for us! The season should be over now but the cold weather has kept things flowing some days. I should really try to get out there to check on things before it rains this afternoon :th

I figure it has probably cleaned out any other chicks that had been in the nest. I was just so mad because the tree has no leaves on it so easy to spot.:(

I'm sorry you witnessed that, DD.:hugs Mother Nature is a cold-hearted b****, we know that, but it can still be shocking to see it demonstrated so vividly.

Sugar busting is hard! I gave up soda, which was difficult because i used to drink a lot of it. I gave up Mallow cups, which i love. I told hubby i am trying to cut back on sugar. So the easter bunny brought me a gigantic bag of m&ms, a huge bag of jordan almonds, and a big tray of marzipan. I also limit my intake of green tea to one glass a day. Have not lost an ounce! But sugar is in so many things. Plus i do not buy anything which has sugar or corn syrup as the first ingredient. I even skip bread on at least half my sandwiches and just eat meat.
Hoping increased exercise will help cut weight this summer.
