My sis-in-law has the strangest looking feet (and would die if she knew I was telling you all). Tiny, tiny feet that are as wide as they are long. When she buys shoes, she should just throw the shoes away and wear the boxes. Just in case you ever run into her, don't kid her about them, she's a bit touchy. :lau

I used to see Europeans out in Asia trying to go bare foot or wear flip flops. A scorpion bite, a small cut, something dropped on their foot because they were too stoned to concentrate; these things aren’t a big deal when you are at home, but in semi tropical and tropical climates these little injuries get infected easily and many I met were on their way home early because they tried to go native.

You do have to take care of them, even at home. Most people aren't used to it and don't take cuts and such seriously. But, the longer you go native :gig the more aware you become of your space and what's in it.
