Get a matate and make flour out of the beans, extremely nutritious but kinda bland.

Hi cafe

I've been outside doing more yard work. Called off again today...my mental health needs a break

Hubs is almost done remodeling the big coop and I got some aloe transplanted and started planning the landscape for this corner of the yard. We'll be doing all desert plants here with a walkway to the gate. I'm composting around the tree so pardon the mess.

Do you use the Aloe for your skin? Do you know which type it is? We have tow plants here; one is Aloe Vera and the other is called something else but has similar properties.
I use them to shave. I cut the spikes off the leaf, split it down the middle and rub the sap straight onto my face. It works really well.

Thank you. Chilean Mesquite. We planted it last year but it's on a slope so I've had to get creative as you can see.

I'm going to test a fairy duster and a chuparosa with the chickens. If they survive I'll add more. I'd like to try some Mesican Heather too, the qiail don't seem to bother theirs so it's a possibility. Sorry, blah blah blah

No blah blah here...I think it's interesting. You can grow things I don't think we can here.

Did you end up making the PB cake for your DD's birthday? Or did you try a mayo recipe?

I was going for sort of a café birthday theme so I made your PB cake & the brownie recipe @ashlierami posted on the Yum thread yesterday. We haven't tried the cake yet, but it looks beautiful & is always a crowd pleaser. I didn't put any mayo in it, but I did put an extra egg in & a drop extra of oil, just for good measure. Ashlies brownies are excellent btw.
