@Bamabexchicks, how is Ocho this morning?
He was pretty energetic, eating and crowing so I let him in the backyard so I could clean the carrier. Had hubs bring up his favorite hen. Bad mistake! He chased her and mounted her twice and now he's exhausted! Back in the carrier waiting for his scrambled egg to cool. Also managed to nick his comb and get it to bleed! My problem child.
Hope you get your coop finish today, we would love to see some pictures! Have a great morning!

I guess he enjoyed the conjugal visit :lau

Keep us posted on him Becca!

I have 2 hens right now that are nn and they do lay every day. They're sweet natured, even my roo is pretty easy going. Plus, in my climate I feel like these are a better choice. I lost heavily feathered birds to heat and felt pretty horrible for a while. Not asking for sympathy, just sharing a lesson learned I guess :duc
I have lost quite few too until I got Spanish breeds. Marans do not do well in the heat here

I know! I thought my honeymoon was wild! He's eating his egg like a starving prisoner, so the rebound time was shorter than before.
Hope you are having a good morning! What's on you agenda today?

If the rebounding time is shorter, it sounds like he's feeling better!

I don't really have an agenda today. DH asked me if I was coming down to the golf course, but I still can't do any kitchen stuff so not sure what he thinks I'll do. I'd just as soon take a nap after waking up at 3:30am

@N F C I honestly don't know how they would do in cold temps. The NN have fewer feathers in general not just naked necks. I have read about people having them in cold climates though.

Well, when the time comes at some point where I can have more birds, I'll do more digging.

BTW...has anyone seen Sean this morning?
