Dobie Lover, I had a similar experienced at a shopping center last year. I was pretty worn out from walking back and forth from one end to another & finding nothing worth buying. When a young woman grabbed my arm and pulled me over to a chair .
She started powdering something under and around my eye, and then tried to get me to buy $ 599. worth of questionable facial products. I told her NO WAY. Then she dropped the price to $ 499. She kept it up, finally I said "I have $ 5.00 in my wallet, no charge cards. Her chin dropped to the floor - I think she "got it." I gained my freedom.
Waiting for the bus pick up, my eye started tearing and itching. By the time I got home upper and lower eye lids were quite swollen Felt like a rock was in my eye, of course I couldn't find anything. I flushed my eye with water but, it didn't help.
Told the bus dispatcher I would have to go to the eye doctor. He flatly told me , the bus was booked solid for dr.appts. for 3 weeks. Horse hockey. I told him an eye doctor appt. is not whimsy. He couldn't care less.
Finally my brother said he would take me on his way home from work. We sat in the waiting room for over 2 hrs. I told the doctor what happened. He didn't care, he decided I needed plugs in my tear ducts (both eyes). It might have helped except only one eye teared so didn't need 2- $ 495. tiny tear duct plugs.
I told him and he could see how inflamed the whites looked and how swollen the lids were. Didn't give me anything to get over that condition first. It was quite a long while till the eye stopped itching, and running and gave me some peace. SMH

Eyes are extremely sensitive, the tiniest problem hurts many times more than the injury would suggest.
