BYC Café

Ah, just creeping up on 7 a.m here, about to go release the beasts.
And yes I know you can't resist the rooster threads, me either they're fascinating and always, always, always leave the door wide open to educate.. :D
Good afternoon here, but the coffee is still good.:)
Yeah, I know, I'm a sucker for the rooster threads.

It seems there may be some aspects of chicken behavior that the more sensitive would rather not know about.:p:lol:
Has Spring arrived where you are?

Arrived and nearly passed, this is the last week of it summer is rolling in. Got my April fools day brood running free in the yard they're nearly eight weeks. Three fellas and five girlies, they're all wonderfully fat and sassy. Life is good man.:)

That sounds great.
I seem to have spent the Spring evicting broody hens.
I don't know where they have these meetings but it seems to go something like; 'I'll sit on the pile in the house, you sit on the nest on the bank, we'll get Hinge to sit on that pile in her coop and with a bit of luck, bucket boy won't notice one of us'.:lau

So how many nests did you miss?
Iv'e still got a broody hen, did have two but one caught lice.
I brought her inside gave her a pine oil bath and apparently that was enough to change her mind on the kids. Too much of a hassle I suppose, lice removal puts a kink in the best plans.:gig
