Got this sunrise pic from hubs yesterday. He was working at a cement plant training their new drivers the last couple of weeks. This is also where the King snake was found. They're good to have around for rattlers.
It should have been a relatively easy day.
Started out nest hunting and just when I was furthest from the chickens Tribe 2's men went off with a very insistent general panic call. I got to the rockery near their favorite shelter spot to find miss neurological missing. It took me a while but I did eventually find her upside down wedged under a bush at the bottom of the rockery. I assume she nodded off and toppled over and bounced under the bush.
Just made a cup of coffee when I hear the general alarm call again and treacle comes flying off the roof and rushes into the house looking very hot and flustered making a racket. I know where Tribe 1 is and close by is a favorite hawk strike spot so off I go leaving a very shaky looking treacle hiding behind the toilet.
I couldn't find anybody except the Goshawk sitting halfway down the bank. As soon as I appeared it took flight; it didn't even seem to be in much of a hurry.
It took two hours to find them all.
Well... he passed the MMSE score requirements, they did the EKG and drew I don't remember how many vials of blood and took a oral rinse sample. We have to get scheduled and go back for a dental exam and a MRI, both of which have to be done down there. I asked if they could be scheduled for the same day. They are going to try. This spending over half a day driving and being at the clinic takes a toll on me. I passed out when we got home.
Because I am sick of waiting for the trial to actually get him enrolled and started on the drug, I have scheduled a vacation for him (and me) to go down to WV and VA to spend about 10 days with his daughter and son. We both need it and I think he'll really enjoy himself. His kids are going to be in for an eye opener though. I will stay home to work and try to get the roof on the house started.
Maybe instead of working on the roof, you could slip away for some "you" time.
That's the thing about me... to me getting the roof done IS "me" time. I love building.

And I just have to get the roof done. The sticking point is I need help tying in the rafters and lining up the tails at the 90 degree angle to the house rafter tails. I've never done that before. Putting the addition on the gable end of the house was a piece of cake. For this roof project, I must have experienced help.
You have put a lot of thought into this. Five whole seconds?Dobie, I've been giving this a lot of thought (for at least the last 5 seconds) and think you should ditch that day job and go into biz building coops/runs for people.
Not that you need any practice, but you could start with me![]()
