I haven't had to cut grass since September....where in Michigan were you?

Grew up in Jenison / Hudsonville area DH and I had 5 acres in Orleans / Ionia area.

I start running out of fresh grass for the coop July - August
comes back late September and all winter long.
It would probably stay nice all year but the watering bill would be outrageous.

I miss fertile soil! but not the cold or that worm smell after the rain

Well I grew up in Farmington hills....around the Detroit area.....but moved to the U.P......in 1983......now I'm 30 miles south of Marquette....

I remember the worm smell...but that wad a city thing....up here it always smell like pine....and woodland....

Oh that would be lovely!
lots of cedar here everyone gets *cedar feaver* in the spring.
I miss White pines. We had some beauties! here they are thinner.

We have many different conifers....white, red pines, cedar, fit, spruce and Tamarack.....Heck I even have a redwood and a Sequoia growing on my yard

yea much better soil in Michigan
we do have some cool trees the Orchid tree and the pencil tree but Lilac doesnt grow here

Yikes...I backed over my wife's lilac trees the other day.....still haven't told her...:/

You will pay for that come spring
