BYC Café

1st, going to drink my coffee, then check my birds, turn the sprinklers on again, then take a nap...got to work tonight :(
Bummer about having to go to work.

I have great plans but not a lot of motivation. But I will get going in a few minutes here.
I'm still running over to my Mom's house 3x a day to take care of her cat. At least my nephew will be home later today to take over that task. I still don't know when she'll be released from the hospital.

I'm going to get another load or two of wood chips from the Town on this side of the river. I got my last 4 loads from the Town across the river. They are getting low so I checked out the other site. Wished I had gone there first. They shred them! They look and smell awesome. I'm going to use them in my formal gardens for mulch too.

The chickens will be able to dust bath in these. They love 'em.

I've got a trench to dig today.:( It's going to be very slow progress in this heat.
The trench houses a water pipe from the deposit to just outside the sheep shed.
It was dug in originally about half a metre down but machine traffic and one of the people here who is not playing with a full deck and insists on trying to sweep around the sheep shed field full of weeds with a yard broom has swept so much soil away, the water now comes out of the tap hot.:he

I think they need one of those 'white jackets'

My heart goes out to you IM.:hugs
Have you decided on a method?

Yes, we're using a cone for now, I need to start with something impersonal and build some skill. I haven't ever intentionally killed anything before and need that distance to become "comfortable" with what I'm doing.

Actually, I did have to put down 2 quail that were sick and I bawled my eyes out and I had to improvise. It wasn't as swift as I wished.

This little roo (named Butter) was wearing a cat harness "just in case" in this picture; he was calm enough, but we really didn't want to risk a chase around the parking lot if he lost it for some reason.

And here he is checking his tweets on the way home.
