@Shadrach since you're the rooster guy here I have a question for you.

My rooster is young, not yet 6 months, and rather controlling, but only when I'm around. A pullet was out of the coop in a shaded area and all was fine until I went outside. Once I was out there he pecked her and made her go with him and away from me with the rest of the pullets.

He sees me as competition doesn't he? I always have this issue with roos raised as brood mates but not when the roos have to grow up with older girls and climb the ranks. I find it interesting.

He came after me a couple of times. Once when I put myself between him and the pullets without a thought, and again in the coop when I tested it on purpose.

We have temps down in the double digits in our forecast!

Our temps are in triple digits today, again. Warning everyone to cut back on high use electric devices, AC, ovens, etc...might have rolling blackouts today.
Might move some of my birds around today, can't seem to get any sold right now but need to have more room for the half grown birds, the outdoor brooders are getting too small for them, there 4' x 12' x 3' and have about a dozen in each brooder. Actually most peeps would call them grow out pens but my grow out pens are 6' x 20' x 7'
