California passed a right to die law but the Dr.s would not prescribe the dose. It is being contested currently.

Oregon has a law but it is not easy to get it there either

I think it's assinine to not let a person decide they want out of the misery. My husbands uncle had cancer, lived in CA, and because there was no way out, he killed himself. Who are the lawmakers to tell a person what they can do with their own body? To push their beliefs on others who feel differently based on religion or their "ethics"? It's terrible and so wrong.

Ahhhh my very favorite baker! :bow Please tell me you made these & that you'll share the recipe? :drool

(*nevermind I see it.. Thank you! :hugs)

If you like the Almond Joy candy bars Roomy, you're going to like that recipe. Chocolate, coconut, almonds...what's not to love?

:hugs

Is it just me or does anyone else feel like people are particularly grumpy? I'm trying to push it off but man, it's wicked right now.

DH might disagree with me, but I'm not grumpy! :tongue

I have commented on this very notion more than once. We offer our pets relief from the pains of terminal illness but deprive ourselves the same kindness. It makes no sense to me.
A friend of mine who is dying from stage 4 breast cancer who is currently hospitalized because she cannot eat has stated that she is ready. She's had enough. And she certainly has. After she survived her initial bout of cancer, she was just shy of her 5 year cancer free anniversary when vision symptoms led to the discovery of a tumor behind her eye. It was treated. Then a tumor was found in her spine.
She also had to have a knee replaced about 3 years after her initial chemo and radiation because that treatment caused her rheumatoid arthritis to flare up so bad it destroyed the knee. Then she had to have carpel tunnel surgery. Then the breast implants got infected and she had to have them removed.
They found a tumor deep inside her liver. That is what is causing her nausea. This woman has truly had enough pain to last a lifetime. She wants out and I don't blame her.
This picture was taken 12 years ago at the Reach The Beach race. She is the woman standing next to me with the long dark hair. Her father is on the far right and was the old person to run the race. Her son is standing directly behind me (with his eyes closed). Three generations of runners. It's very sad. Her father will outlive his daughter.

Very sad Dobie. My uncle died of throat & brain cancer years ago. His SIL (one of my aunts) was furious with him for refusing treatment. I never understood that, to me, it was his life/his decision. Guess everyone has a different way of seeing things.

SIL's mother died on Thurs. and the family is gathering so our other two grand children were there. Speaking of terminal illnesses - we 'lost' her 6 months ago, but her body refused to give up until last week.

Sorry for your family's loss Sour.

I managed to get the front walkway done.
You can see where the Gravel Lok got a little too thick and over reacted at the bottom of the path and foamed up. I don't really care though.

The beauty berry shrubs that flank it are juvenile and a little stressed from being pot bound when I placed them.
They'll look like this when they recover and grow a bit.

Lovely walkway Dobie! I like the shrubs too...will wild birds eat the berries?

:wootPlanning a roadtrip to Colorado next Spring with my mama. We're going to meet my cousin Marks ex-wife. She is really into genealogy and has a photo album that she's giving my mom of old family pics. I'm super excited to go! I think we'll be going to Denver, not sure yet.

Road trip! Sounds like a lot of fun for you and your mom IM :thumbsup
