Big sigh! It has been interesting but now Hubby and I are working on a greenhouse/cold frame today. A whole lot less emotional unless he gets frustrated and then we shall see what happens.

Sounds like my Dad. I will never forget the day he launched our lawnmower over the fence into the paddock next door!

My Dad has a real Polish temper - he would never take anything out on us kids or Mum, but inanimate objects would cop the brunt of his wrath if the didn't operate as they should!

I may have inherited his temper. I launched a vacuum cleaner into the river when it packed up on me once

Krista, the Princess has that 'Polish' temper. I've only seen it expressed 3 times in 51 years, but those occasions remain memorable to the kids and me.

Then she gets over it in a heartbeat. Me, I bear a grudge - I do forgive but NEVER forget. The blood of William Wallace runs strong in my veins.

Spring break is this week for my kids and while the day started off good. I hit my box before the sun came up and got a killer weight lifting sesh in, actually enjoyed about less than an hour into my errand list all hell broke loose at home. Now I've got a crying 16 yr old who went for a walk to clear her head. A 6 yr old who keeps following the dog around asking why he broke her heart. A 13 yr old who want stop yelling at everyone over a mission boot. A toddler who keeps yelling for Paw Patrol.

And as for me... I'm hiding in my closet wishing the husband would come home to deal with the aftermath of dog vs baby chicken.

The Polish temper is a sight to behold, for sure! It takes a lot to break me but when I snap - take cover!

Unfortunately I hold a grudge also. I don't express it, but it sits there in the back of my mind that "You did me wrong." It's something I need to work on.

Oh, that's sad.

Yes, it has to get better. When you're at the end of your rope there is only one way to go - UP.

Sorry you've had such a bad day.

That is so me to a core! Every day I tell myself I am not going to hold on to things done wrong, especially by my MIL. But it is such a hard trait to move past. Seriously wish there was an easy fix to it.

That doesn't sound like much fun, but before you know it they will be grown and gone and you will be wishing for those days back. So there must be some humor to found in the situation. Of course you might have to look...

Krista, best of luck tomorrow, and do be sure to have something chocolate for dessert - that helps everything!

Quote: But, if we were supposed to forget, then won't that allow for the bad to happen again? Don't we need to remember who burned us and what preceded the burn in order to walk a wide mile around it?
Otherwise we will keep getting used by the same people over and over and...
No, I figure that is why we have memories.
The whole 'Sting me once shame on you, sting me twice shame on me' thing.

Now the forgiving part is the thing I have problems with.
I have justified not forgetting, but mean people who hurt you to be mean? Nope. They need to ask to be forgiven. I need to know they understand that they were not nice.
But if say, my neighbor ran over my mail box, that's forgiven. It is a mistake. If they rev-ed up, gunned it and flatten the thing because they are just nuts, then uh-nope. no forgiving there. And I need to always remember it and give them a wide berth.
Fortunately we have wonderful neighbors, so. no probs.

However, vacuum cleaners and I have the same relationship as Krista has with hers.
grrrrr. stupid vacuum cleaners and their snooty attitudes.
