BYC Café

In Spain, at least out in the Pamplona/Leon regions, where I have distant relatives the animals were in the area under the house for that very reason I suspect. I've not seen them but my Dad and uncle have. I've only been to Spain the one time 14 years ago for 2 weeks in Barcelona. I did meet up with my aunt's relatives, went to the church where she and my uncle were married in 1963 and the church where my grandmother and her mother were baptized in the 19th century.
You've got it.:)
Ground floor for the animals and kitchen if you had one. Middle floor for the humans and often an open balcony roof space for feed and storage.
A guy I know who keeps Fayoumies has a house just like this and the chickens roost in the top section.

That must have been a very special trip Bruce. I'd love to visit Scotland sometime for similar reasons. I still have some relatives in Ayr and would love to meet them sometime. But then I wonder if we aren't the "black sheep" arm of the family...they might not be that interested in meeting us. :gig

Would he think it odd if you took a couple pictures to share with your American fellow BYC'ers? I'd like to see that!

Take @Shadrach with you, he speaks Scottish!

There used to be someone on BYC (an American) that had a walkout basement where they kept their ducks. How convenient that would be to keep an eye on things. Just walk down a few stairs, open a door and there they are!

I think if you kept things clean, there shouldn't be an obnoxious odor.
