I am happy that you did not fall in! about 5 years ago a BYC member and her Daughter drowned in their pond trying to save a Llama. The Llama was fine but they did not make it.

Does Benedryl work on coughs?

Only on coughs caused by an allergic reaction. It will help you sleep though

No I don't think so. When you have bronchitis you want to cough to get all the nasty stuff out. Suppressing it can cause infections.

Try cough drops.

That's terrible! Such a sad thing. But I have to say, I understand their urge to come to the animal's rescue.

The dumbest thing I heard the paramedic say when I was having anaphylaxis was to not freak out I couldn't breathe but yeah I won't freak out
