BYC Café

Good morning, Cafe.
It's frosty here and some halfwits mentioned the word snow. I can't remember the last time we had snow this late in spring so I'm hoping that they are wrong.
Kerrie and the kids are doing great. It's getting harder for me to pick out MaeDay from the bunch. That one day behind gets to be a smaller gap every moment.
I still have them confined to the maternity ward. I never saw mom take the chicks outside yesterday though. More often than not, they were under her.

Good morning and thanks for the coffee, in whatever form it may be in today.
MaeDay is a cute name, DL.
No snow here atm but it did get freezing cold last night and will be close 32/31 for the next week or so with snow showers mentioned for Fri. night.
Sorry, Shad for the ridiculousness that you have to deal with. If you were a comedian, you would have some great material to sift through!
Enjoy the day you all. I need to go uncover some plants.

Good morning everyone!

Thanks for the coffee. Just finished getting caught up...you guys are a chatty bunch.
Cloudy, humid, 77°F this morning....looks like rain? maybe not!

Mr. Corona decided to find his way back home this morning, been out gallivanting around the neighborhood for the last 8 days! I didn't name him that my closest neighbor did....they have gone somewhere, so I guess he decided to come home and be a pain in George's side! :lau doesn't look any worse for the wear.

Everyone make it a great day! :celebrate

parted with one of my hens today :hit

A neighbour who had some rescue hens was down to the last one last Nov., and asked if I could spare one to keep it company. I let them choose one from my flock. They chose Dorothy, my RIR. Now their last rescue hen has gone, they need company for Dorothy. Her best friend had been Isabella (who pined for a whole day when Dorothy left in the autumn), so it really had to be her. Shame she is also my best layer :( But the timing could have been a lot worse, because my broody is on day 4 of sitting on 4 of Isabella's eggs, so :fl for daughter or two of Isabella's to appear in a few weeks' time... ideally also of Barry's, so that they're pure breed LAs and blue egg layers!

They sound like they are doing well!

It is sadly funny what Shad has to go through!

I hope the broody hatch gets you a pullet or two!
