BYC Café

What you need is a bit of gelignite.
That stump grinding business is expensive.
This guy is also taking down three very big trees and one small to medium one then chipping up the branches for mulch. And best of all, I don't have to do it! I have more than I can handle as it is.

try that round here!!! I just love the cultural differences on this site!
The last place I saw it done was in South Gloucester. It used to be quite common when I was a lad. The guys who worked the quarries and steeplejacks used to make a few extra quid by blasting.

Thankfully when I drop a tree here, the stump stays where it is. Sometimes I wedge them but it's too much like graft for someone of my senior standing.:p

quite a lot of things that were common when we were young are not now, most of them effective but dangerous   :gig
Have you got any virus cases in your locality Perris? Two more died in the local village here this week apparently. Both elderly and both with other medical problems.

Good morning Café. Thanks for the coffee, Shad.
I did NOT throw Kerrie out this morning!!!!!
I did, however, leave the flock locked in the coop/run, open the front door of the coop and the clean out door to the ward and toss a handful of bird seed and Flock Raiser mash outside. Kerrie saw it scatter and out she went. 3 chicks were brave enough to run right out with her. The rest needed a little encouragement from mom. But by god, they're OUT!!
When I released the rest of the flock, Fabio marched right over and stayed with mom and the kids while the others came to get a closer look. So far as I can tell, Una, Barb's only pullet from last July, is the only member who will not be tolerated around the babies. Mom launched a hell of an attack on her.

Very sweet photo!

Still have not washed the water bucket nipple did not stop. Silkie coop the one one that has a floor lots of wet shavings..
BF brought the bucket down taking a little one up there so they had water ...
I made potato salad, angle finger cookies and cleaned my 2 coops .. Then I dug out silkie..

Just had a fox attack here. Sven (my avatar) is missing and a few of his feathers appear to indicate his last position. Aneka, my broody welsummer pullet, is missing without trace. Obelix, my Barbezieux cockerel just turned 8 months old, is mortally wounded. :hit The rest are badly shaken: a first time for them all. I need to alert the local hunter to try to get him before any more are taken.
