BYC Café

Good morning Cafe. It's warm and sunny here.
With all the activity I've been trying to do lately, I'm realizing just how badly out of shape I've gotten since Dad died. I'm struggling to do half the things in a day that I could have easily accomplished before I slipped away. I've got a longer road to recovery than I realized.

Good morning, Cap and Happy Anniversary! :love
I hope you have a dry sunny day today.
When you sell chicks, do people always want them as babies or do you have a customer base for started pullets?
I try to sell them as fast as possible, I don't want the added expense of growing them out. Plus you get stuck with a lot of roosters. It's just not worth it to me, $5 for chicks and people want pullets for $15 or 20 at 6 months! I do end up growing some out, but that's the exception.

Good morning Cafe.
Coffee is made. Tea and kettle are on the counter. Still no sugar. Not likely to have any until the middle of the month.
In the high twenties here temperature wise and climbing. It's going to be hot.
The chickens are already in their favored shade spots.
Are you losing weight without having sugar?

Good morning Cafe. I am meeting someone to sell chicks today. Have a super day. I am hoping to see the sun today, 8 plus inches of rain in the last couple days has me sick of it.

I have 14 hatched all sold but 4 I am keeping also

The tree work is complete at my dad's house.
Yesterday I texted the owner of the company, Ed, and asked if I could bring a pizza for the work crew for lunch and he gladly accepted. I also gave him an extra $40 just for a nice round number.
As we were going over the work list again I commented on a scraggly looking pine that my mom had dad plant way too close to the towering white pines. Ed said "I can just pluck that out of the ground and run it through the chipper shredder". That tree was at least 22' tall. I asked "how much more?" He said "eh, you gave us a pizza, I'll just do it"! Great guy. He is also available to help with all the work that my neighbor thus far has failed to do. If he isn't at that house this weekend, I'm saying nothing to him and hiring Ed.
My neighbor has had more than enough time to do the work and I'm just done waiting around for him.
