I think it will help relieve a bit of worry and stress for me while I'm at work so I can focus on my work.Oh my best wishes for the care taker can be blessing I sure pray it works for you
Thanks. I just saw several things over the last 2 weeks that got my radar up, 2 of which I mentioned.@DobieLover I think that is a very good move on your part.
That sounds like a good plan for DH!Oh. I forgot to mention. I've hired a lady to stay with DH for 3 hours a day when I'm working. She has experience as a care giver for dementia patients and I got her name from a friend who's grandmother she cared for. She's great. She starts Tuesday. Her name is Nan.
Why did I decide to start? DH isn't drinking water during the day and his hand cramped up one night. I think being dehydrated would very negatively affect cognitive function.
He also ate the dogs veggies one day.Their veggies were Brussels sprout butts, cucumber, carrot and sweet potato peels chopped up and the pithy section of a zucchini cut up and everything steamed. Gag! So he's starting to concern me with his diet.
Nan will eat her lunch with DH and make sure he drinks at least 20 oz of water when she's here, help him do his chores that he wants to do, play simple card games with him, maybe watch 1/2 hour of a show (I have The Prisoner cued up for them!), take him for walks up the road, and I told her if she needed to run errands to take him with her in his truck to do so. She also asked, "what can I do for you?"Anything she does to keep the house in order by the time I get home will be great.
This has been my plan for about 3 years. I just never knew when I was going to pull the trigger and who I was going to hire. The "who" I zeroed in on about 1.5 years ago when I first heard about her. That sounds like a good plan for DH!
It is nice when a plan comes together. This has been my plan for about 3 years. I just never knew when I was going to pull the trigger and who I was going to hire. The "who" I zeroed in on about 1.5 years ago when I first heard about her.
Was thinking before better to start before it's really needed(even more) so he can get used to her and vise versa. Why did I decide to start?
This house is where your mom lives or will live again......but thought you were selling it. I CRSNaturally! I've taken you all on this renovation journey with me. I think it would be downright rude not to show the finished product!
This is the house I convinced my mom to buy for herself instead of renting. It is on a slab so single level. Most everything will be new when I get done with it. She's been in it once after I had torn it apart. This house is where your mom lives or will live again......but thought you were selling it. I CRS![]()
WOW!!...so where is mom living now? This is the house I convinced my mom to buy for herself instead of renting. It is on a slab so single level. Most everything will be new when I get done with it. She's been in it once after I had torn it apart.
The other house, which was my dad's and hers, is the one I call my dad's house because he wouldn't leave it. I have the wonderful couple that wants to buy it and is helping to work on it to get it ready for a mortgage. The roof is leaking on the house (found out recently) and it is getting a tear off and new roof among other things. The roof work is tentatively scheduled for the first weekend in September.
Then there's MY house which is getting a roof this year FINALLY!
Lots of stuff happening over the next several months.
In a POS rental.WOW!!...so where is mom living now?
You are the House Juggler!!
