No really though...I felt weird leaving my broader today (first time chicken mama) I kept thinking i was going to come home to a bunch of dead birds. Am I just being crazy?? Lol

Random is more than welcome. There's a lot of 'random' happening here.

I've been shaving my head for at least the last 15 years. Several weeks ago I decided to let my hair (that which remains) grow out. I pictured full sides tapering to a hippy like pony tail in the back. Sadly I've become a Bernie Sanders look alike with the 72 hairs that remain on top proudly sprouting in 72 different directions. The Princess is starting to call me 'Bernie'.

I am going to look at getting a brooder plate though. Just learned about them yesterday!!

I don't mind leaving the babies with a brooder plate, since I know they won't get too hot. (Which is my biggest worry.) Chance of fire is a lot less too, since I don't have to worry about the lamp falling.

If you have plenty of room for the chicks to get warm and to cool off, fresh food and water, a secure heat source, I'm sure they'll be fine.
