BYC Café

Hey @DobieLover did you ever find that waterer cap?
...and did I see a new waterer in another thread(ts bucket)?
I did not find the cap. Maybe this spring? (Rotten little kleptos!)
I took the cap off the new reservoir and I'm using the old reservoir as long as it continues to hold water.
I've always had the bucket inside the coop. One of the nipples recently started leaking out of the clear blue sky so I have to replace it. I'm going to use one of the cat litter buckets I got with bubble insulation and a feed bag wrapped around it after I leave it in the garage for a day or two to make sure the new bucket doesn't leak. Not sure when I'll have time to do it though. So I've been refilling the run waterer every other day.

Morning Cafe Tonya take the nipple clean it out scrub with toothpaste wait two days put it back .. This does work I have used them like 4 years now ....
Had my allotted two cups thanks now to make chocolate chip cookies..
Made them yesterday  no butter still in the microwave .. those are bricks now

I'll pass on the Earl Grey if you don't mind Shad; I prefer a proper cup of (black) tea rather than the 'delicate' grey.
Curious. What is a "proper" tea? I've not thought of Earl Grey as "delicate".

Yep. Sadly we, the 3rd largest country by population in the world, are the only first world country without a national health service. Too many people equate universal health care with SOCIALISM  even though they don't have a problem with Medicare - which is universal health care for those 65 and older.

What an amazingly rejuvenating job! :yesss:
Sure was, a mere 45 minutes of organizing and she looks 60 years younger!

We are supposed to get a big rototiller delivered by freight truck today.
Was it on sale? I can't imagine you have much use for it this time of year.

A whole 14°f (-10°c)
And are sending it our way!!!

most mornings keep the electric heat off
Yep, electric resistance heat is expensive.

PGandE is one of the most expensive Utilities in the country
And bankrupt!

Down here too. :barnie It’ll be higher this month because of the Christmas lights.:he
Do you have LED lights? Those wouldn't jack the electric bill much.

Had to deal with some real fruit cakes though 🤪
I suspect the people they bring into those shows have to be at least a bit fruit cake to make the show more "interesting".

Never heard it called that, the link suggests it is a brand name.

Here Waste management gives us bins to use that are designed to be picked up by the claw on the truck.
Yeah we got that too, and the bins look like @aart's Herby Curby. Personally I hate them. The wheels don't run in snow or the smooth loose stone up to the house so I have to carry them and they don't have handles to make that easy plus are somewhat heavy even when empty. And they are unstable being narrow at the bottom, the wind will catch the lid and flip the can delivering the contents onto the ground. And another and: The bins have so many nooks and crannies inside that things get stuck. I could get a whole lot more in the old round 30 gallon can than I can in the 32 gallon wheeled bin. They also have 64 and 96 gallon options, the 96 was the standard unless you requested a smaller one. Frankly I can't image how anyone shy of a family of 10 could fill a 96 gallon trash bin every week. Especially since we have both recyclables and composables required to NOT be in the trash bins.

Not the weight that concerns me.....but.....I am obviously overthinking it :gig

It just BUGS me!!
So, inquiring minds want to know, why do you leave the lid open at all?

Cheep, we get $260 for a full cord of split mixed pine.
You'd be selling nothing here for that price or any other, like @cheepteach, you couldn't sell pine for firewood here for 1/4 of that price. I don't even cut a dead pine for "free" firewood.

wow! we don't sell pine, just hardwoods for indoor wood heating. $185 split and delivered full cord----when people want a better deal for wood, I'll send them to Colorado!
That is a good price. Send me some, I'm sure a couple hundred miles is within the delivery area ;)

Wednesday is a crap shoot--it will be whatever happens---prepared for the worst
We won't be getting snow but it is supposed to go below 0°F Wed AM.

Threads. I tried Teflon tape and it didn't work.
I start with a smaller hole, 11/32"
Must be very clean, no drill boogers.
But then I've never used a thicker walled vessel,
tho HDPE should be soft enough to self thread cleanly.
