BYC Café

Finally getting some rain, 1/2" so far, supposed to last another couple hours.
They were warning hail, high winds, lightning strikes.....but none of that happened here.
I'm not thinking about the high temps and humidity later.
Glad you are getting a "relaxing" rain. One of my favorite things is to sit and read a book while listening to a nice rain. The relaxing part goes out the window when the gusting winds, lighting strikes and thunder start.

Good afternoon everyone!

Thank you for the much needed coffee @DobieLover :caf

For some time now, we are under a heat wave and try to get everything done in the early morning hours, as it is almost impossible to be outside after 11 am.
Weather is predicted to change around Wednesday next week to bearable temperatures, so we postponed the work on building the run extension (next flock-down might be only a few months way).

I am down to 28 adult chickens (3 roosters, 25 hens) and 18 chicks, which makes the care a lot easier now.

DH has an appointment with a nurse in Urology to find out how much higher his PSA levels are and to discuss what exactly we are "observing" regarding that number and his prostate cancer. Jr will be there. Then he's off for a 2 week vacation. I'm very much looking forward to the break. I really need it.
Hopefully the results will be reassuring, so he can enjoy the vacation with his family and in the meantime allow for some recreation on your side. :fl

Humidity? Lalalalalalalala I can't hear you!

I haven't checked the rain gauge (a bucket) yet, but this was a good soaking. Thank you, Mother Nature.

Definitely relaxing, woke just as it started, lullabied me right back to sleep.

Good morning and thanks for the coffee! People in the neighborhood have been having a hard time with a very small-for-its-age teenage bear. It must know what an electric fence is because I have yet to see it. The rubberized bobcat has also been scarce.
It is cloudy here with a chance of rain so I guess chores are imminent!
Enjoy the day, Cafe!
