BYC Café

Good morning Cafe and thanks for the coffee.
Shadow stayed for another night.

Shadow got a reminder of what the poultry netting is all about this morning. That was right after I saw him jump up into one of my vegetable garden beds so I was pretty happy about the double correction. He went flying back up onto the deck to wait with Bella and Skittles while I finished tending the flock.
MY dogs completely ignore the flocks existence. One hit to the nose each was enough for them.

I just got a call from the guy with the three Border Collies that I sometimes run into at the fields while running my dogs. He told me that he put Luna, their blue merle puppy, out on the line last night after the fireworks were done so she could pee one last time before bed. He heard her bark briefly then quiet down. He went out to get her and someone had cut the rope she was tied out on and took her!!!!
They've posted that she was stolen to FB, CL and another forum. I don't know if she was chipped but the company would launch an email to the area if she was. Needless to say, he feels horrible and responsible for it but mostly, he just wants his dog back.

Good afternoon everyone! The new router finally arrived but is still not working properly, so I might just disappear again into the depths of the www....

Thank you for the coffee @DobieLover , just what I needed right now. :caf

I hope you all have recovered from the overenthusiastic festivities of your fellow countrymen.
We face a similar problem every New Years Eve.

What a shame they steal puppies out of their own yard and even cut it from the leash! What is wrong with people nowadays?

Back then, people would have their dogs tied up in front of the stores (there even were some special iron rings inbuilt to the walls) etc. waiting for their owners return and nobody would mess with them or steal them.
You could leave your bike or baby carriage filled with goods outside the store and nobody would steal it while you were inside shopping.

@DobieLover : Whose dog is this goodlooking but naughty Shadow?
Pooping in your house, trying to get your chickens etc.
He was Ben's best friend, owned by a co-worker.
In his defense on the pooping, I didn't read him right. He was trying to let me know he needed to go out but he is SOOOOO freakin' whiny and vocal I just ignored him as I'd already put him out less than an hour before. I guess he showed me.

That explains it! Looks as if Ben kept him in check.
How about Bella, will she do the same?
Ben was the alpha of the pair. VERY alpha. But they so loved to play with each other and got along great.

As for Bella... nope! Not interested.
Remember, she is Little Miss Insecure. And he's huge compared to her. I've no doubt she could plow him into the ground because she is younger, faster, lower to the ground and stronger than he is regardless of size. She just doesn't have it in her. She is still trying to figure out what the hell he's doing in her house!
This morning he tried to play with her in the living room. She showed some interest but wouldn't engage so he gave up. Maybe on the run today she'll play with him. I hope so. It's not like she has rough and tumbled with big dogs. Just not as big as him.
