So are you keeping the firewood? Oak is the best firewood out there!
Plum, walnut, cherry, pear, apple and ashtree and beech as well, and they smell better, at least to me.

With all these nasty oak processionary moths leaving their noxious cocoons in the trees for years, we switched to other types of fire wood, but thankfully all our own.
 
Astrid is about three days away from fully dependable grafting to the broody nest. I think I'll wait until day 7 after candling to give her the viable eggs. You can just make out her head in the bottom corner.
I still need to remove that chick perch and make and install chick ramps for the two open sides of the nest box.

All in all her timing is perfect. She'll be setting for one day longer than the incubation of the eggs began.
Again, Sour, I can't thank you enough for the exemplary aim and the early delivery. To show my deep gratitude I will gift you the first confirmed cockerel from the brood!
