BYC Café

I don't know if you follow Tractor Time With Tim but the farm next to their house (which has some land, all the houses around them have a number of acres) is being sold and 8 THOUSAND houses will be put up. They will be (not) moving from the country to small lot suburbia without changing their address. I think I'd move my @SS outta there long before those houses are built. And what are the odds that their properties will then start being taxed for "development potential"? Or raised because they have acerage?
Or they will be harassed for their livestock's noise and smell emission by the new owners' HOA like often happens?

I don't know Tonya's area but more than likely it will be turned into housing, possibly dense housing.
No way. There is only a small portion of the land that isn't in the AE flood zone. The river is in the AE zone.

Good evening Cafe.
There's a pot of tea on the stove keeping warm. What happened to the tea cosy?
Went out shopping for Christmas provisions with my daughter this evening. It's the first time she's been out since she caught Covid. Lovely to see some colour in her cheeks; not so lovely watching her make up for not shopping for ten days.:th
How are your elderly relatives that caught covid at the funeral?

Near as I can tell from the videos none of those properties are doing farming of any nature let alone animals. But you are right, it happens all too often. Move to the country for country life and complain about the noises and smells of country life.

And their citified dogs don't shut up.

Yay!!!! Maybe you won't lose your walking area.

:(

Good morning Cafe. Thanks for the coffee.

I had just entered the brooder room to go in and start cleaning the boards this morning when Fabio sent up the aerial predator alarm. And he really meant business. It wasn't the one that's more like "I see something up there but I'm not sure what it is; everyone be cautious". It was "HAWK"! Everyone ran for cover and I heard Napoleon take up the alarm from inside the run. I think he was just doubling down on Fabio's alarm because he couldn't see the hawk.

I could. It was perched in the giant oak at the neighbor's house. Where they feed the wild birds. It looked like a Cooper's but I really couldn't see it well enough. It flew over the pen then on up over the forest. It didn't seem interested in the the flock. I think it was after the wild birds at the feeder.

Ace tid-bitted for the first time yesterday. He is coming along very nicely and I hope he gets to stay. It would be nice to have another pair of eyes to the sky.
Apart from being a bit of a looker that Fabio seems like he's been worth every swear word you've uttered at him and every rant you've posted here.
