We got some of the wood from the trees that came down on the power lines. No wonder one of them fell in that wind: the center was crumbling apart. It had deluxe squirrel nest in it. There's still some to cut and haul, so I hope we can get that done before football, ie, seeing the Lions lose.

I spent some time yesterday, taking down the Halloween decorations (dusting out the cobwebs). My neck ached by the time I was done.

It's amazing what the trees hide. I've seen this too. Some of it really scary. Huge trees practically hollowed out in the middle.

A few weeks ago, DH and I were hiking along the cabin trails through the woods. DH is always lagging behind me about 15-20'. We had just crossed over a little wood plank bridge when I heard a THWUMP behind me. I turned around and saw a rather large dead branch had fallen right behind me and right in front of DH. It was definitely large enough that if either of us had been hit by it we would have been seriously injured. It wasn't even windy that day.
