BYC Café

I could use a mega cup-a Jo. I've had my GS since Thursday. He's almost 3, with special needs. Wake-up times vary - but, are always early. This morning, it was 3:00. I have him until Jan 2 or 3. It's going to be a very long week. 😴

How did things go with your girl yesterday?

Good call on parking in the garage!
She's gone.
I was having a bit of a time getting someone up here to shoot her. The coworker who took the deer to the road edge for me finally came up and did it. I carried her to the spot where she was to be shot and walked away a bit. He shot her and I looked back to see her flapping all over. It was horrible. He put the muzzle to the back of her head so I'm sure these were the electrical reactions of the muscles I always read about but I still had him shoot her in the head again.
I needed to see the flapping part. I need to be able to end my birds suffering and can't always rely on someone to do it for me.

The flapping is always disturbing, even after dozens of times.
Yes, good to be able to do it yourself. CD is what I use for euthanasia.

A good bit of nasty headed up from the southwest this afternoon.

Good morning! It is trying to be sunny and it is really cold and breezy, but my horse chores are done and I am back inside to warm up with the hot coffee. DL, I am glad that the hen is no longer suffering, Hugs on that.
Not only did GS have his first Christmas, but yesterday was his first birthday and he really liked the cream-cheese frosting on the carrot cake muffin. He has been a ball of energy but sleeping better through the night. DH and I went though some toys in the attic and rounded up the big building blocks and a dinosaur and gave him a box of misc (washed) toys that he will be outgrowing soon enough. He loves the box and the dinosaur tastes good, LOL! Enjoy the day!
