He has a bad heart. I don't think he'll make it to the end of the year. I have tried to prepare his owners for the inevitable but haven't told them I think this year is his last. Having lost 3 to heart issues, I'm very familiar with the decline.

How sad! He appears to be a really nice guy, but looks so very exhausted and tired.

I learned to drive stick in two lessons at a car dealer. I wanted this Toyota stationwagon, and they had it. So on my second visit, i drove it home.

When I was 15 I learned to drive on a stick, in the city, in my friends mean-dads brand new truck that we’d ‘borrowed’. The best motivation to learn quick & not crash is definitely fear.

When I was little my uncle taught me to drive a stick on some old dirt roads out in the country. I could barely reach the peddles in that old VW Bug. Seriously good times!

I wish I could teach my kids in a stick, but manual transmissions are hard to find out here these days.

My first car was an automatic. Everything after that has been a manual. It certainly has made finding a car harder for me. 4 door, sedan style? Piece of cake, GOBS available. Manual transmission? Ummm... maybe 3...?

Well, this was 12 years ago, anyway. Haven't bought a car since then. Not looking forward to it, either.

Nope first vehicle was a ford 100 three on the tree .. The old farmtruck I drove with blocks on the pedals it was stick.. All my trucks have been standard shift.

Had one of these, built out a camper on the back and lived in it for a trip around the country...only made it as far as FL, then had my son and moved back to MI.
