BYC Café

The trap is empty. No raccoon, no ground hog. A now-stale brat bun sits there, unmolested.

It's still pretty windy, but less so than yesterday. At 42 degrees, it's too chilly to dig in the wet dirt in the garden.

So instead, I built a chicknic table out of some wood scraps DH brought home from work to use as kindling. It's strong enough that I can sit on it, so it will surely hold chickens. I'll get pictures after I've painted it. Paint will hide a lot of the "didn't quite fit exactly" bits. :)
Try marshmallows and fishy cat food.

That's a kick in the teeth; I'm sorry. :( I hope you can get them sometime and don't have to wait too long.
Idk, they had a problem with that respiratory infection. Lost all the birds in one barn. But they keep saying my birds will ship next week. Going to try and call them Monday.

I'm not a fan of yellow flowers, usually. But I love daffodils. Maybe because they're a sign of spring? Would I feel the same way if they bloomed in July? :idunno

DH and Freya made it home safely from their trip. :thumbsup She was a very good girl. Except when she found DH's half sub in a bag in the car... :lau Should have put it in the trunk, dear!

He brought home some scrapple from Pittsburgh. I'm not a fan, so it's all for him. And Freya will get a bite, probably.

Good morning Cafe. Thanks for the coffee Sour.

Its 32 out with an expected 10F increase today. It's not snowing or raining so I'll take it. It rained all day yesterday so Bella didn't get a run and was true gnat yesterday and my sister's house for dinner.

This morning, Morgan, one of Fabio's daughters, got her stupid fifth toe nail caught under the metal fluted stair edging that I have at the coop entrance door. I noticed it and grabbed her to push her back to get it free and she started acting like I was getting ready for chicken dinner. The flock was then terrified when I suddenly threw out my hand... to cast out their bird seed/mealworm scratch.

I will not be hatching out of my stock again. When my big boy passes on, I think I'll get some EE hatching eggs and keep one of the boys from that brood to replace him. Nice tight comb, clean legs and no stupid-useless-causes-nothing-but-trouble fifth toe!
