BYC Café

I think she's ready.
I'll keep an eye on her throughout the day and if she holds tight, I'll give her the 4 eggs tonight.

I'll need to remove the towel. It'll be pushing 90 tomorrow and will pass 90 on Sunday.
This will be my first run using a bantam. The flock is at 23 head with one other bantam. Should be interesting.

Got the new fence up and attached. I had been holding up fence pieces with wooden stakes. I probably have half of the anti-dig apron installed. Taking a break for lunch.

Later today, I want to chip up a pile of brush. I'm waiting for that area to be in the shade first.

I think one of my 2 yo hens has stopped laying. Her eggs are distinctive, and I have seen one in about a week now. Anyone have a hen stop so early in the season? I was thinking they'd lay until August.
How deep are you burying the anti dig apron?

Good evening Cafe.
I'll join the broody club with one Cream Legbar.
Mulling over the prospect of having to build a hoop run for the new coop we bought recently.
Had a decent week weatherwise. It's getting colder and wetter for the weekend.

It might not be deep enough everywhere, but the materials are free. 6-12" depending on what I have to work with. Some of it is metal roofing, some will be pieces of the really trashed fence that I took down.

The last one I dug in was six inches deep.Maybe I should have dug to twelve inches.
