BYC Café

How do you roast coffee? Is it possible to do it in an oven? Cast iron skillet? Sorry if that's a dumb question; I really don't know.
coffee roasters, cast iron skillets and hot air popcorn makers all work.

I have a Gene Cafe coffee roaster that I bought used 10 years ago on ebay. I have replaced a couple of parts to keep it going.

Good morning Cafe. Coffee is ready.

I had to reschedule Piper's vet appointment to the afternoon yesterday because the plow didn't do the road until about noon. The vet said upon looking at her coat "dilution alopecia". I said, "But she's not dilute".
She is still saying alopecia and that she might grow out of it. She did give her a shot to treat for any potential bacterial infection or mange. I'm going to supplement her with collagen too and transition her onto her raw diet starting today. I'm going to take a picture of her back today and again in 2 weeks to see if there is a difference.

2-3" of snow so far, judging by what I swept off the run. We're in the 2-4" band, so not a lot more coming, I guess.

DH is all pissed off because the football games today are not on regular broadcast stations. We got rid of satellite TV a couple years ago, so we're limited to what we get via an antenna.

At least he thinks the snow is beautiful.

Good morning Cafe! Thanks for the coffee DL!

It’s a beautiful sunny day here before the storm. We’re just out on a drive to get take out from a local chef who makes amazing locally-sourced meals (a Christmas season treat for us). Salt has been doing very well - down to taking her out only once a night, which is nice! She’s getting along very well with Buoy and Arlo. The only thing is she has developed a fascination with chasing feet. It’s a big game for her! While it’s hilarious, we’ll kick that in the bud pretty quick as she has sharp little teeth, haha.

as she has sharp little teeth, haha.
Don't they!! 😬

All of Piper's inappropriate chewing no matter how hilarious gets stopped right away. That is certainly not something either of us should be putting up with when they outgrow the "isn't this cute" stage.

I'm out with a pups and bellas having an awesome time kicking up the snow in her wake. It's compacted and firm enough to support Skittles' weight. I put Piper down long enough for her to pee and then she started shaking and quaking so she's bundled back up in her shoulder carrier but is not about to tolerate having her head stuff down in there.

At the moment I have wrapped over the back of her head and ears with the blanket and I'm blocking the wind under her chin as good as I can with my hand. That's as far as she'll let me go.

We got about 3-4", ground not really frozen but snow was not slushy under there.
Supposed to get another 3-6" today, but looks like it's mostly north of me here(according to weather dot com radar loop).

Can watch world cup soccer....or college basketball :sick
I'm not pissed but do miss the football.
