BYC Café

Woke up to a whiteout and a fresh inch of snow on the ground.
It stopped then started again...gonna do that most the day.
About the same here.

Dh texted me that the owner of the company he sometimes works for was hit by a car in a restaurant parking lot. 19 yo idiot racing through. Hope they caught him.

Guy has a broken femur and smashed ankle. He's home, recovering, going stir crazy. He's in his 60s, so of the age where it will heal, but not quickly, and he'll always have a limp. :(

Oh no, that's awful... I hope the catch him... not good. And I hope the fella's wounds heal up as quickly as then can.

good luck with the DH doc appt, DL.
His appointment was specifically to get his 6-month Eligard shot. The nurse came in and said "Oh is PSA level looks great. He's due for his Eligard shot on the 26th".
I told her that when I made the appointment 6 months ago he was supposed to get the shot today. She told me that the Dr couldn't see him because he was in surgery that day and that she'd have to clear it with him. I told her go clear it with him, we're not going to split hairs over 13 days!
He got the shot today.

Last night I decided to kill two birds with one stone and after Piper went potty I carried her with me out to lock up the flock and do headcount.

I talked to her the whole way as she was a little nervous about going out there. Once we got into the coop Fabio gave a big flap and crowed and that little dog almost pushed herself through my chest she was so freaked out. It's one thing to hear him crow from the backyard. It's an entirely different experience to have him crow 2 feet from your face in the dark!

So when I took her out this afternoon and she heard him crow she clamped off mid-stream!

I think I'll continue to take her out there at lockup just to try to boost her confidence.

The herringbone is a timeless pattern but so is the running bond.
I would prefer the herringbone on the ground if I put it somewhere.

Tomorrow it's supposed to start snowing again with the heavier stuff falling on Tuesday. But again only about 8 in total. Not really that bad!
Apparently you aren't going to share with me which is just fine! I gather the storm is running south of us. The 2.5" of heavy wet snow we are expecting is plenty for this time of year. And actually wet/heavy in any quantity is never appreciated.

I am going to find the standard of perfection for barnyard mix chickens.
Easy - if they are healthy and lay eggs they are perfect :D

I was thinking more along the lines of keeping the "Fear of Fabio" strong so she won't chase the chickens if she ever gets the opportunity.

That will never be an issue because they are kept behind electrified poultry netting and I don't know if I will ever let her outside off leash. We'll see...

I bet she grows up to be a good off leash dog for runs just like the other two :D
:fl
I certainly hope so. She has not followed the MinPin characteristics "norm" other than the exuberance for life. The breed in general is known for taking off when off leash. One major thing I have in my favor is her idol worship of big sister and brother. I'm sure she'd want to stick with them.
