BYC Café

Good evening Café!

Despite the strong winds and weather forecast it stayed dry today so we were able to enjoy coffee and cake sitting on the porch with some friends.

We are drowning in eggs and chives and are busy processing both for the freezer.

The chicks are growing like weeds, looks like 5 cockerels and 6 pullets so far.

What do you do with your eggs to freeze them?

I use several of these oversized ice cube makers with lids.

Each compartment holds one large to xl sized cracked egg (yolk plus albumen) and it is easy to get out just the amount needed. After freezing the eggs I often pop the cubes into freeze bags as I have too many eggs to freeze to let them sit in the ice cube maker.

But I also freeze hard boiled eggs with their shell for the dogs and the chickens.
