BYC Café

Got the coop path well whacked yesterday, then started on the slew of sassafras saplings when the battery ran out. Rallied later to slaughter the saplings amongst the waist high grasses. What a PITA, but it sure smells good.

Stubborn broody laid yesterday after a week out,
less stubborn broody will be released this evening. :fl

Someone is definitely molting out there, 3 big flight feathers on the boards this morning.

Me too. It's my crowing hen.
How old is she?
Had a 2yo hen crowing during molting one year, also did some other rooster like things, she stopped once she went back into lay.

When I had only up to 3yo's they didn't start molting until Sept at the earliest. Tho the males always started in Aug. I've noticed the older girls start molting earlier each year.

I didn't get the injection. I don't know if he didn't numb me up good enough or what but whatever he was doing to get ready for the injection was so unbelievably, excruciatingly painful that I was literally screaming on the stretcher. And I have never once in my life screamed because of pain.
I now have a new maximum pain level on which to grade pain on a scale of 1 to 10. That's my new 10.
