Good luck defending your thesis @Offshoreorca. I'm sure you'll do very well.

Those 3 days were incredible for photography options! I would have loved to have seen all the things you saw. Your pictures are fabulous.

Thank you! It’s an amazing world out there. I’m equal parts thrilled that it’s out of the reach of many and sad those who are responsible don’t get a chance to see it.

Good morning Cafe and thanks for the coffee Orca.

My leg has gotten bad enough that I'm having serious difficulty standing without support. With the back brace I can make it about 1/3 mile walking when I take the dogs out. That means I hobble along up to the old ball field bench and sit there while the girls explore the area and run around in the mowed fields. Then I hobble back to the car.

When I shop, no matter how much I plan to purchase, I must have a cart that I can use to support myself. My arms are getting bruised from bearing down in the cart edges.

I can't wait for my appointment with the surgeon tomorrow. I have been thinking quite a lot about surgery vs trying that injection again but with my back fully numbed. The first attempt was so traumatizing I don't want to try again. I think I'd rather just have the disc fragments/portion that is impinging the nerve removed and just be done with it. With how inflammed everything is, I wonder if an injection into the space would be called for before closing me up.

hoping for a successful resolution for you whichever choice you make. :hugs gently.
When I walked out into the fields today I changed tactic and walked with slow, short steps. That kept the burning, jabbing pain at bay. I made it to the creek with them so they could swim and explore the creek bed. Some lovely soul built a bench out of creek stones. I sit there and try to relax the leg.
I hope the appt goes well tomorrow, DL.
I will report back what the surgeon and I decide what is best for me. Whatever it is, something has to give.

I'm also thankful that I have a lawn tractor that I can just drive slowly around to cut the grass. But the heat drove me in before I could do the chicken pen. That will wait until this evening when things cool off.

I still haven't cleaned the coop or changed their water. They are all hunkered down under that glorious old style quince shrub. Savannah's got the kids in there too. Some pop out every now and again for a sun bath but never for too long.
