For a Monday and a aside from a 30-40% chance of water from the sky, our weather is very nice.
Thank you for wishing it on us!

Rain would be good here. We got a shower this weekend but not alot more then that. If it is going to be in the 70s and 80s we really need some moisture. Or all that rain we got this winter is going to dry up fast.

I can't decide if this time change is good because the dogs sleep in or bad because now I'm an hour behind with my day! I think I will need more coffee to decide!

Not too much on my plate today...oatmeal cookies need to be made and the stair railings need to be sanded to prep them for staining later this week. It is the last big staining/varnishing project for a while thank heavens.

Yes Scott, it is a 6 burner range, the hood is part of the "mess" on the back counter (it is now installed). The top oven is "cookies only" all pizzas must be cooked in the lower one! No upper cabinets because I didn't want the views or the light being blocked. I have plenty of storage in the drawers below and a large pantry, doorway next to the wall ovens. This kitchen is the result of three years of planning and a lifetime of working in too small kitchens. Since DH and I both love to cook, and entertain, we told the builder if the kitchen was right the rest of the house wouldn't matter!

Mornin' all!

One cup down, almost feeling human. Spent an awful lot of time this weekend mucking out stalls and raking out the areas around the horses' barns that are finally, finally drying out; this morning, I am one big ache. I think I've earned a slow start

(though that feels more like a "no start")

@MissWiggles congrats on your dream kitchen!

Thank you Bunny, Diva, VWduck and Scott. DH and I have truly been blessed and are grateful for every day in our new home. There were many, many days where we wondered if this was ever going to happen. Faith, and a lot of prayers got us through.
Scott- here are some pictures of the wood details. Gary ( our builder) did a fantastic job, we pretty much gave him free rein and he did not disappoint!
The wood in the bathroom and over the front door came from my grandparents' farm. The wood above the fireplace came from Gary's Dad's farm. Gary hand distressed each of the stair treads, he used rebar for the spindles and square nails on the treads. The cat on the steps is Winston, my daughter's cat. He was visiting for the holidays.

He also spent three day putting in the tile in our shower. I will post pictures of that later!
