Mornin' y'all.
Thanks for the coffee, Scott. Maybe it'll help the headache; the ibuprofen hasn't touched it.
Happy Anniversary, Friday!
Horses, eh?
The weather was nice enough, BB2K worked some of ours yesterday. None had had much done with them for a while, so they were all a bit full of themselves. It's a bit ridiculous to see Syd, all 10 hands of her, sassing 15-hand Latte through the fence; but each considers herself boss mare of her space, so they will squabble.
Watching Latte prancing and bucking and blowing, I can see that she could really intimidate some people, and of course she had to give BB2K attitude when she started lunging her. I was watching them from the porch, and at one point BB2K asked me, "am I crazy? That thousand pound animal just aimed a kick at me, and instead of shrinking back and going, 'that thing could have killed me,' I'm like, 'oh, no, you didn't! You better move that big yellow butt!'" But what's really crazy is how much like some kids Latte is; just has to push the envelope to make sure the rules are still the rules. The horse actually enjoys being worked with, once she gets done with the little power struggles. BB2K had never done 'liberty' work with Latte before, but she did yesterday. It was amazing to see the Big Blonde following her all around, even doing awkward, tight circles, controlled only by voice and body language.
Low 60's and moderate to light rain this morning. Keeping an eye on the weather radar; looks like things have been really ugly for folks in Georgia overnight. Hoping things calm down and everybody stays safe.
