Mornin, y'all!

Wish I could watch the races. Ever since the changeover, the channels we can get have been severely impacted. We had cable for a while, but nobody watched it much, so Critter took the boxes back and cancelled the service. I suppose I could subscribe to an online site, but it's not worth that much to me, particularly since I tend to sleep through a lot of it . . . kinda miss my "NASCAR naps," though.
Last year on nascar.com I would use the Live Leaderboard to keep up with the race in near realtime. If you have a good 'puter and Internet connection there isn't much lag to deal with.
With my 'old&slow' puter and DSL connection I have some lag, but not too bad.
Just a thought with the radio doing play-by-play, you should be able to follow the race and get your naps in da-boot.

I do wish you good Luck in the small business and Not throwing it in a loop before you are ready for it.

I'm really self conscious about mentioning business stuff to anyone, but I try to force myself to do it

Mornin' chicken friends

Its 34 degrees right now with a pretty good wind but its sunny and clear so I will head out shortly to continue on my coop building adventure.

@Treerooted Its not easy raising kids but mine are so grown up now. When my DH and I are out and about now and we see people with young kids we think "how the heck did we survive that?" Its a tremendous amount of work with barely any time for yourself but it flies by. I know that sounds cliche but its the truth. I'm happy my kids are independent and well adjusted but I do miss those days. Thats where the dogs and soon to be chickens come in, more time to pursue things that interest me and of course I still need something to nurture. Good luck with all your new adventures!

Merrymouse, you are so right. Raising a child is a major undertaking and comes with no user's manual. They DO grow that fast. My son is very independent adult but, lives clear across the country. He calls weekly and of course it sounds like he is right here but, he's not. It's not the same. Sometimes when I miss him more than usual, I just close his bedroom door and it's just like he's home for a visit. He doesn't usually reply and pretends he is sleeping but, I can hear his computer chair moving around in there.

I always thought he would live in a nearby suburb or something (wishful thinking) but, his job is far away from mama.

I'm dreading the empty nest!!!

there is always email. My son taught me how to do it when he moved. He didn't want me calling him all the time. I realize he generally deletes my messages as they arrive But, when he wants advice he will email or call like crazy. Then still do what he intended before asking me. Kids, that's the thanks you get.

Morning all, lovely day think I will light a fire and do some chops/boerwors for the me and animals.

I know how you all feel about empty nest. Mine went empty so suddenly, took some time to get used to it. The thing I hate most is when I go shopping they ask me for my pensioner card. I think I'm not that old, am I? Expect its the wrinkles that give it away. DD I know what exactly the 'son' thing - mine does the same, and because I don't want to appear 'needy' Iol, I wait for him to call me, still waiting

Chooks are so rewarding and fulfilling - just watching them sit on eggs for weeks then babies pop out from under fluffy mums, it realy is so special. Dogs too, they just love you for who you are, mine follow me EVERYWHERE. I just find walking them a bit hectic as their total weight is 140Kg and if Zenky finds some delicious smell on the air he is off - I look totally stupid being dragged down the road on my butt but there you go...I dare not let him off the lead as he thinks everything is his to eat including people. They are trained, but sometimes smells are just too inviting and no amount of training will stop him. Xara on the other hand is a real lady and behaves all the time.

Well you guys enjoy the coffee and tea and have a wonderful day - and good luck with all your projects - and remember kids don't leave home ever, really - they just go missing for a while

Mornin' chicken friends! I think my days of building the coop in nice 40 degree weather is over for a while, currently 31 and will not make it out of the 30's today and only getting colder as the week progresses. The extra hot coffee is tasting good right now. Enjoy your day all!
