Good morning all the Café dwellers!

DH just had a small wake-up. He went out of the house to go to work and hollered at me, "Why is the car door open?" I said, "Looks like we had a bear..." He then proceded to glance furiously up into the woods and around for the bear. Nothing. One nose print, one drool mark and no sign of bear in the car at all. He just checked it out and left. Good bad bear!

Are those peaches?:drool

Mornin', y'all.:frow

Margie, when I was a kid, my dad had a rule - no eating in the car. When we stopped for ice cream or whatever, nobody got back in the car until all food had been consumed. Sounds like a "no food" rule might be all that stands between a driveable vehicle and a very expensive insurance claim in your neck of the woods!

Mentioning dads, I hope all the dads had a good Father's Day. Critter and BB2K had a nice father/daughter outing yesterday. Critter had been dithering on whether or not to go sailing; the forecast had the wind gusting a little higher than he felt really comfortable with (remember, he's new to catamarans; he's only had this Hobie out a couple of times). Finally decided to go, and BB2K went with him. When they got there, the lake looked more like the ocean than a lake; very choppy. Critter said he wouldn't have chanced it solo, but with the extra weight of crew, he was able to hold it together. So they didn't flip it or break anything, but Critter was kinda white-knuckled on the tiller a bit. BB2K was having a blast - she was like, "let me try!" But Critter was, "uh, no, 20-knot winds are not the conditions in which to start learning how to sail . . . "
