Mine is over 8K even though the market is dead in our area (spread over 2 billings during the year) and house is totally as is. Only remodeling in 48 yrs. is when something totally breaks down and must be replaced.

I however can't save that much..... So I pay the property tax right after the PFD is paid out.

Property tax, if you choose to not pay in 2 instalments, is due Oct. 15th in full.

have you tried complaining? I tried this year, on one of the property bits I STUPIDLY decided to own.

Even though the property can LEGALLY have only a, was it 400 square foot house including parking?, the "powers that be" truly think I could sell it for 19k.

as to your insane property tax, have you at least gotten it locked in place? So it can't get any worse?

Many places have an old person clause where the taxes can't get worse after I dunno what age. ...


Don't have that here...but my parents have that where they are...which is nice, because where they are property tax keeps shooting up.

My parents (they live in a big city), have in the past found lawyers that will argue your property tax case... they are not paid from YOUR pocket... their payment is only what they manage to save you in property taxes. Nice way to get your taxes lowered..if they fail...they get nothing and you pay nothing.
