BYC Café

Who's hibernating? Not me, I got up at 2:30. I'm going out of town tomorrow and trying to get some stuff done around the house.

Now I'm trying to decide between baking a rum cake or cookies. Decisions, decisions.
Ya know, until this past Spring I never knew that a female cat was called a Queen....then Understanding started to Pour in and many things became very Clear.....:lau

Hello... nice day to hibernate!:frow

Today is a work day so I was up a 5am. Tomorrow is Veterans day observed so I will likel sleep in til 6am.

Okay turns out my dad's English not Irish lol I remembered when I remembered something about his family but I asked to be sure haha

Although there is a little bit of Irish further back. And there's more Portuguese than I thought. Supposedly my grandma was like half Portuguese so idk what that makes me

But supposedly we were here before the pilgrims ha we're from Maine apparently too

And also we have relatives (or a relative?) that were in the Boston Tea Party and the revolutionary war

English and Irish are very similar. Remember, for some reason, Guys seem to want to marry Irish Girls

Genetics - bottom line is we always know who the momma is , but the daddy remains to be proven. My father's side - pretty sure they are primarily Scottish. As for Mom - awfully dark haired and complected for a German - me too. I told her once that someone must have sneaked across the border. ( She did not appreciate that.) My gut says Italian or Jewish DNA. Some day for the heck of it, I may do a DNA test.

Hahaha too true.

They know how to cook potatoes!

Soda bread and Irish Stew!

Might be about the only thing they cook, my Nana and mom are horrible cooks haha and most Irish food I've tried is kind of bland. But maybe I just haven't had the right chef or food yet ha I do LOVE potatoes though. Perhaps a little too much :lau

Corned beef and cabbage? No way. Oddly my mom hates it too but my dad loves it haha

I did try it once though and forced myself to eat it. It was at a great restaurant so oddly it wasn't terrible but cabbage tastes weird. Idk.
