That's nice to have it switched up :)
Our thanksgivings would be in the same place for years, and then switch to a new location. Was always my favorite holiday. Big family, often overnight at a cottage or farm, crokinole tournament, everyone helping with dinner, going for walks, playing musical instruments. Now the extended family doesn't get together at thanksgiving. But our immediate family is getting bigger with 11 of us and one on the way.

That sounds amazing! Here it's kinda boring. Mostly just eat then sit around lol

Glad I'm not the only one, lol.

Ok @Treerooted now you have to explain what "crokinole" is.

Yeah what is it

Thanksgiving prep got a good start today. Who really needs a turkey, anyways?

Awesome fish!

Haha, right. @Alaskan @N F C

Game played on a table with a board as shown. Either 2 players or 4 in teams.

"Crokinole (/ˈkroʊkɪnoʊl/ KROH-ki-nohl) is a dexterity board game similar in various ways to pitchnut, carrom, marbles, and shove ha'penny, with elements of shuffleboard and curling reduced to table-top size. Players take turns shooting discs across the circular playing surface, trying to have their discs land in the higher-scoring regions of the board, while also attempting to knock away opposing discs."

Sounds fun.

pitch nut and shove ha'penny?

:lau

I am not from where you are from.

Well, that's the Wikipedia explanation. I have no idea what those are either!

But actually @Alaskan you're right! It's more of a regional game; which is nice. It was always a favorite tradition of mine. I have a board myself but haven't played in years. Maybe I'll get it out this weekend...

Oh ya, I forgot I was half American so I suppose I could celebrate Thanksgiving too. But I think once is enough!

I grew up playing dominoes. double twelves, and most domino players play with double sixes. Makes we wonder where people play double twelve.

That's big in our family too, we've got a set of double 15s :D

FIFTEENS?????? :th

I have no idea what any of this means lol

We usually go to my uncle's house or occasionally we have it at our house with just us or go to my mom's family in PA (both pretty rare) but this year, my brother and his girlfriend wanted to have it so we are going to their house. It is only like 2 miles from us hah they're living in my grandma's old house. I think they are inviting a couple work friends that I assume don't have anywhere to go, her parents and brother (and I'm not sure if the girlfriend is coming or not), then of course us (myself, my parents, and my other brother). I think that's it but not sure and not sure if anyone else is coming. Anyway, it will be nice to do something a little different and have a little change of pace. Going to my uncle's is fun but always kind of boring because we get there early then we don't eat for a few hours then we always stay into the evening/night cause everyone sits around and watches the game or talks, etc., etc. And of course drinks. So it will be nice to do something different. I'm sure we'll sit around there too but we don't have to be there till later and yeah.
Hope you have a good time Kdogg. :)

I have never seen or heard of a set of double 15s.

the number just says how many tiles the dominoes have, the maximum number the dominoes goes up to.

It's my parents set, works well for big groups. We play mexican train...but starting at 15 is insane, even if we have we've never made it through all those rounds!

Anyway here's my stuff, wanna play? ;)
