There was a squirrel that kept getting into their run eating their BOSS.... The first time I shouted out the window and it ran off. Came back a bit later but not too long. Hit the wall, the glass, the screen, shouted, he wasn't leaving. Guess he realized it wasnt a real threat. Eventually he left. Came back not 5 minutes later. Lol sent the dog out after him and didnt see him since.

Went back out and gave the chickens more BOSS as well as cracked corn and scratch (corn and some other longer grain, idk), risky with the squirrel, but this time i put some on the opposite side of the yard for him. I figure I can have him inside the run or outside eating his portion. I saw him not too long after I put it down in the trees, not sure if he jumped down or not. Probably. I can tell it's the same one cause it's the same color (I know all squirrels are but you know how some have more or less white) but more importantly, he's all fluffed up and kind of fat. And of course the only one bold enough lol

ANYWAY.

The reason I share this story is because.....

MY CHICKENS ARE COWARDS!!!

The stories of chickens chasing squirrels away? Not mine.

They are scared of him. They stay under the coop or on the other side of the run. The squirrel, however, is not scared of them. They walk somewhat near him when they pace halfway then retreat but nope not scared.

Using heat helped with my back. I wonder if it will make them fester though. Will that make too much for your immune system to remove?

I hope it goes at a pace that you can handle. Maybe they can operate later when there is less of them
I think all infection is gone now, and the pockets that are left are filled with fatty acids from radiation damage. Shouldn't fester :fl, but the pockets are really irritating to the tissues around it. Started working out a bit to rebuild the muscle underneath, which is feeling a lot better. The "bad" area right now is pretty superficial.

@FridayYet be careful up on that ladder!!
Sorry about the losses. Hope the netting helps.

Ladder work delayed. Bought an undersink filter replacement yesterday, which should have taken 3 minutes to replace. Took the old one out, new one wouldn't go in. Hmmm. Went to put the old one back in - nope, it wouldn't go in either. :barnie Saw the shut-off valve was leaking and went to tighten it, and the thing flew off in my hand. Water spraying everywhere, couldn't let go of it to go shut off the water main, couldn't get it back on. Well, finally did but it felt like it took for-ev-er. Cleaned up the mess, turned off the water, dried off and went to bed - late.

This morning, got the valve off again (finally) and it looked like some part of the insides had broken. (Cheap push-on valve??) Went to Lowe's and got a new shark bite valve and installed it. Reconnected the water lines and somehow the new filter went onto the line without a problem. :idunno

No leaks under the sink so far, so finally, I can go take a shower. Chickens can stay stuck in their safe area until tomorrow.

When it rains, it pours. Sorry about all that

Thanks, Pert.

At least I'm happy I could figure out the plumbing myself and get it fixed! (Pats self on back). Who knows when a plumber would have been able to get here and DH won't be home until Wed night or Thursday. The time spent helping my dad all those years fixing apartments comes in handy once in a while.

I hate it when simple jobs go south like that!

The system I have now uses twist on and off connections. So far they have been easy to change out.

On the 20th a new dishwasher will be delivered. Yesterday I removed the old one and was very happy that the valve did not leak! So far so good. I hope the installation goes as well

Mine is twist on too, and not sure why the cartridge wouldn't go back in. Guess it's a good thing I found that the shut-off valve was barely connected to the pipe - could have blown while we were out of town.

Hooray for a new dishwasher! I miss my old one in CA, but won't get a new one until this one threatens to die. It's so loud compared to the Bosch I used to have.

We had an original to the house GE Hotpoint diswasher. It was not very good so I am not too sad that it died.

The pump system that drains the tub failed. It would cost about 30% of a new dishwasher to buy the parts. The new one is a Maytag and should be a much better dishwasher. It has a steam cycle which the old one did not have
